- Bagan
One of the central and most beautiful holiday destinations of Burma is Bagan, which is previously known as Pagan. Burma has been known for its ancient architecture and Bagan is one of those places where the heart of Burma ancient architecture still lies. Bagan is the capital of Myanmar’s first ruling dynasty, Pagan Empire. Bagan is the roof of the about 2200 beautiful temples and magnificent pagodas. One of the most beautiful methods to do sightseeing is to take the Balloon ride for the ultimate view of Bagan. There are other means of transportation such as cars, horse cart, or cycling. - Mandalay
The unique culture, vast cultural history, is what makes Mandalay the central of Myanmar culture. Mandalay is situated between the most historical Ayeyarwaddy river and state of Shan. Mandalay is also known as the cycling city since the majority of Mandalay citizen prefers to use cycle as the means of transportation. The Buddha statues of Myanmar are famous in the whole world and major of these statues are built in Mandalay style. Mandalay was once the capital of the country and the 150 years old palace is one of the central figures of Mandalay city. Due to good maintenance, this 150 years old palace in still in good shape and is full of ancient architecture. Formerly known as Rangoon, Yangon was the capital of the country and is the central of colonial architecture. The remains of the 19th century British colony are the unique example and old Chevrolet buses, trishaws, traditionally dressed citizen street vendors shows the Yangon downtown life. One of the central figures of Yangon is Shwedagon Pagoda also known as the heart of Yangon is the most honored pagoda in the country. It is said that Shwedagon pagoda was built during the time of Lord Buddha which is more that 2500 years ago. It is the famous place that can be seen from miles around. This pagoda is almost 100 meters high. It is one of the wonders of the world and the most revered pagoda in the Southeast Asia. - Golden Rock
Golden Rock is one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Myanmar located in the Mon State and perched on the highest mountain of the Paunglaung Mountain range. It is the sacred place for Burmese citizen and also known as the Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda. It is believed that one glimpse on this spectacular “gravity defying” Golden Rock provide enough inspirations for people to turn into Buddhism. - Mahamuni Pagoda
One of the three most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites aside Golden Rock and Shwedagon Pagoda is Mahamuni Pagoda. The Mahamuni (The Great Sage) Buddha image is defied in this temple and is believed to be originated from Arakan. This pagoda is seen as the expression to represent Lord Buddha’s Life. The Mahamuni pagoda is a complex of structures, with a central shrine and is framed by an extensive grass lawn. It is situated southeast of Mandalay, Myanmar. - Bodhi Tataung
Second tallest statue in the world is Bodi Tataung, which is located in Monywa. This statue is 129 meters tall and was built in 2008 in Central Burma and is one of the main attractions of Myanmar. Its full title is Mahar Bodhi Tataung Laykun Setkyar Standing Buddha Statue.

Political Reform in recent years in Myanmar
Since November 2010, Myanmar has undergone a major process of political reform where New military backed civilian Government replaced Military ruled government and these reforms include the release of pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi from house arrest. She makes her parliamentary debut, one of the 43 members of the National League of Democracy (NLD). The new government commence liberal democracy, reconciliation and mixed economy. Even though the tourism sector was encouraged since 1992 by the military government, around 800,000 foreign visitors came to Burma and since then the tourism sector saw a rise in foreign visitors in a rapid rate.
The government signs to cease fire with rebels of the Karen Ethnic group. The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) agrees to let Burma chair the group in 2014. President of United States of America, Barack Obama became the first US president to ever visit Burma in 2012.
